BandWith Chicago and Chicago Jesuit Academy are proud to collaborate in presenting a special Jazz education masterclass and performance for students on the West Side of Chicago — offered free of charge to ensure broad community access.

This unique event will bring together prospective small jazz ensembles from both organizations for an inspiring afternoon of musical exchange, mentorship, and performance. Students will have the opportunity to learn directly from professional musicians while also showcasing their own developing artistry.

Featured guest artists, the Marques Carroll Quintet, will lead an engaging masterclass focused on improvisation, ensemble collaboration, and the rich traditions of Jazz. The Quintet will also perform a short set, demonstrating professional-level artistry and offering students a model of excellence.

The event will culminate in a collaborative performance where students join the Quintet on stage — celebrating community, mentorship, and the vibrant future of Jazz on Chicago’s West Side.

Through this partnership, BandWith Chicago and Chicago Jesuit Academy reaffirm their shared commitment to expanding access to high-quality arts education and strengthening cultural connections within the community.
