Chicago’s Women in Jazz: The Sound of the City

This collaboration between the Chicago Jazz Alliance and Tammy McCann Presents shifts the spotlight from traditional standards to the vibrant, living legacy of female jazz musicians in Chicago. "The Sound of the City" showcases the city's local talent and the "unrelenting genius" of women who have helped build Chicago's unique jazz identity. The performance is designed as an "energy exchange" rather than a history lesson, blending McCann's soulful, gospel-infused jazz with the technical mastery of the city’s premier female artists.
